Keselo Fortress
Built in the 13th century during the Mongol invasions, Keselo Fortress originally consisted of eleven towers, of which only a few remain today. It was strategically located to guard the Omalo valley, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
Keselo Fortress represents not only a part of Tusheti’s military past but also its cultural heritage. The nearby villages preserve unique examples of Tushetian stone architecture, making the site a vivid reminder of the region’s history. Visitors often describe it as a “window into Tusheti’s past.”
